First, I have to talk about my friend Kalvin who called me tonight. I met Kalvin two years ago, while he was sitting on a bench at Wal-Mart waiting for his mom to pick him up.
I started asking him questions. He seemed surprised. We talked about him not having a job, and his best friend dying the Christmas before. By the time I left, I had invited him to church, but he didn’t want to go because he didn’t believe in God. So I told him about a get together at our home that we had on Saturday nights. He started coming to that gathering almost every week, and the first five months we befriended Kalvin. He would hang out, listen to the teaching, watch the movie clips, listen to worship when we had it, but never wanted to follow Jesus. After five months, Kalvin decided to be a Christian. I had the opportunity to serve Kalvin and see him not only grow in Christ over the last year, but notice him gradually change the practical life skills we take for granted.
Kalvin calls me tonight, and is ecstatic because he and his girlfriend bought an 06 Chevy Cobalt, and they don’t have to get rides from his mom anymore. Way to go bud.
– Indians gave Europeans the pumpkin, corn, cultivation of the potato, tobacco, and the tomato, but they also gave them something else! Link
I have a couple friends that regularly go to Vegas. I always tell them, “Hey, not everything that happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”
– Tomorrow is “Talk Like Jack Bauer Day.” Here’s a guide to talking like Jack Bauer – Link.
“Remember that for the whole 24 hours of Talk Like Jack Bauer Day, you cannot go to the bathroom or charge a cell phone. Also, it should only take you a maximum of 3 minutes to get anywhere you are going.”
Cheers.
The Indians should have put up a fence!!! :)
